In Volume II of the Institutes of Biblical Law Rushdoony tries to pick up where he left off before. The book is fascinating as he delves deeper into many of the questions that are raised in volume 1, and I would heartily recommend the large section in the center that deals with the idea of community. But where Volume 1 was novel and fresh, volume 2 seems rather tedious at points. Don't get me wrong I very much enjoyed this book, but it does not approach the greatness of the 1st book. I would gladly have given volume 1 6 stars. But since 5 is the highest praise allowed here this book has to settle for 4 stars.
